:: Last Days of Suomen elämää (for a while) ::

As usual, when it is becoming quite interesting and pleasant, you have to leave the place and go back to your usual business. Not like nothing is waiting for me back home in Montreal but... still. I enjoy life in Helsinki as much as enjoyed it in Oulu.

Soon it's time to go.
The other side is calling my name. Play is in order, as is construction of new beginning and who knows what futures it will conjure.

Thursday evening was a quite memorable one. I chose to spend it with the Vänskä, who have been more than helpful during my stay in Oulu. Priceless moments like these from hyperdecent human beings are so rare to find these days. Or are they? We ate good food and talked. Then it was time for the train. I met Heidi at the rautatieasema and she escorted me to my makuuvaunu, where i tried to sleep quite unsuccesfully for the first time since I have been coming to Finland.
Met Mika and Mikko Friday, after spending an afternoon in SKS doing last minute research for my Ph.D. We were at Mikko's place, where he gave me two relics of Finnish recent past that i hope i will be able to fit in my matkalaukku (luggage)...
I was too tired to go out but i held my promise of greeting Suvi at the airport with the help of her brother Samppa (Herra Ahma) and his small yet sturdy car. He has a quite nice flat that he shares with his girfriend Liisa and two dogs.

Saturday was well-filled with a trek on the sea ice, then a sauna, after which a nice meal supplied by Heini quickly replenished the lost energy needed for the interview of J. Westerlund (musician in Circle, Chainsmoker and now Plain Ride) we met at Bullman restaurant but went to his place since my computer did not want to help me record his voice. Then i was off to see Mika again, this time with Viveca and of course Janne Petajajärvi, who had been drinking since 9 am...

Lots of jokes and talk about life in general... warm smiles and booming laughters, 80's metal, sombreros, Leningrad Cowboys and nice looking women.
Missed the last ratikka to Heini's place so i took a bus.

Sunday is sunny.
One last day.
