Ok I admit I have a serious storage problem when it comes to compact discs. I have already solved the storage problem with my vynils, although playing them is no longer possible not only because no turntable in my possession is longer in order but because playing them once accelerates the sound degradation (except my Jesus Lizard vynils outlived my CDs...), mainly because I do not buy vinyls anymore. Yes, I download a helluva lot of mp3s and I have started to convert my vinyls in mp3s (Lords Of The New Church, I heard play in Helsinki in some leftist boring party where nobody danced and tried to give us "flyers" on the sad state of the world, Government Issue, probably one of the most exciting D.C. hardcore bands of the eighties) but I keep buying records. I mean I support the artists and all but I am stuck with a lot of CDs and my sturdy shelves are no longer able to support a double row of these items indispensable to my existence. Well, they are!
This is doubled with another problem that some people would say is not really problem but in my neverending quest for questioning all aspects of my sometimes boring but mostly okay life brings me to say: DO I REALLY WANT TO HAVE 10,000 SONGS IN MY POCKET? I already have a hard time listening to the 1,997 songs on my iMac! I don't have time to create playlists and even less time to digitize my other CDs to listen to those songs that I like but that are no longer on my "top 100". So what do I do? Well, I guess I could stop buying CDs...
...
NOT!
