What was not supposed to happen for another three months at least went by me in a flash last Tuesday morning. In what amounted to an instant in my existence but lasted close to two hours in real time, my right eye muscles were adjusted so that my diplopia was all but fixed.

I was bumped up on December 11th from the original 17th after I received a phone call from a giddy orthoptist telling me some poor chap in Sept-Îles had to forfeit his appointment. From this point on everything went pretty fast. [Flash] Me going to a clinic to get a doctor-appointed blood test and check-up [Flash] Me getting my blood sample at a hospital and passing out laughing [Flash] A quick visit at Montreal's Children to make sure I still want to do this [Flash] Waiting for the operation while discussing Romania and Eastern european beauty with Marian the Transylvanian, the guy who takes me down to the O.R. (yes i know that sounds creepy but we had a blast) [Flash] Me waking up from the operation, not sure how many trucks have run me over [Flash] struggling to stay put while the doc and attending fiddle with my eye muscles to tweak the right angle [Flash] Back home, adjusting to my mostly restored eyesight. Not there yet, but pretty far from Monday.
